Membership Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to Bronze, Silver, Gold and Open Studio memberships at Algarve Arts Academy, Urbanização Al-Sakia Village, Av. da Fonte Santa 10, Loja 7, 8125-020 Quarteira.
1. Your membership and booking classes
1.1 Memberships. We offer Bronze, Silver, Gold and Open Studio memberships, paid monthly or (for Bronze, Silver and Gold) annually. The price, plan and benefits you choose are shown on our website at the time you join.
1.2 Classes. Bronze includes 4 classes a month. Silver and Gold include 8 classes a month. Classes can be used on any adult painting or pottery class, in any mix. Kids' classes, workshops and courses are booked separately.
1.3 Your month. Your membership month starts on the day you join and runs for one month. Unused classes do not carry over to the next month.
1.4 Booking code. After you join, we will send you a personal booking code, normally within one working day. You enter it in the coupon box when you book a class. Monthly members receive a new code each month. Annual members receive one code for the year, covering 4 or 8 classes a month, and are asked to spread their classes across the year.
1.5 Personal to you. Your membership and booking code are personal and may not be used by anyone else, except where we agree to a transfer under clause 2.5.
1.6 Fair use. If you book more than your monthly allowance, we may ask you to pay the drop-in price for the extra classes or to wait for your next month.
2. Payments, changes and cancelling
2.1 Payment. Monthly memberships renew automatically each month until you cancel. Annual memberships are paid once, in advance, and we will remind you before your renewal date. If a payment fails, we will remind you, and your booking code will stop working until the payment is made.
2.2 Changing or cancelling a class. Tell us at least 48 hours before a class and it goes back to your allowance. With less notice, or if you do not attend, the class counts as used. If we cancel a class, it goes back to your allowance.
2.3 Cancelling a monthly membership. You can cancel at any time. Please tell us before your next renewal date so you are not charged for another month. We do not refund the month already paid.
2.4 Pausing. On request, and before your renewal date, we can pause your membership for up to one month.
2.5 Transfers. With our approval, you can transfer your membership to another person once.
2.6 Upgrading and downgrading. You can upgrade at any time by paying the difference. A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal.
3. Refunds and the 14-day right to cancel
3.1 14-day right to cancel. If you join online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of joining, without giving a reason, and receive a refund. We will deduct the value of any classes you have already used, charged at our drop-in price of €35 per class. To cancel, contact us by email or WhatsApp within the 14 days.
3.2 Starting straight away. By joining, you ask us to start your membership immediately and agree that we will deduct the value of classes used if you cancel within the 14 days.
3.3 After 14 days. After the 14 days, memberships are not refundable. This applies to annual memberships, because the annual price already includes a discount for committing for a year, and to the current month of a monthly membership.
3.4 Exceptions. We may make exceptions at our discretion, for example for serious illness (with a doctor's note), moving away, or if we are unable to provide your classes. Where we agree to a refund, we refund the unused whole months at the monthly price of your tier, not the annual price.
3.5 Alternatives to a refund. We can instead pause your membership for up to one month, transfer it to another person once with our approval, or give you a credit for classes or the shop.
3.6 How we refund. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, normally within 14 days of us agreeing to the refund.
4. Open Studio general terms
4.1 Open Studio. Open Studio runs every Friday from 10:30 to 15:00 and is included with Bronze, Silver and Gold. It can also be joined on its own for €80 a month, as a monthly membership only. Art supplies and equipment are not included. Open Studio members must accept the Open Studio agreement and follow the studio rules.
4.2 Guest pass. Open Studio members get 1 guest pass a month. Members must tell us when they bring a guest, so we can record the guest's name and contact details. The guest is the member's responsibility during their visit.
4.3 Studio rules and behaviour. You agree to follow the studio rules and to treat other members and our team with respect. We may end a membership, without refund, if the rules are seriously or repeatedly broken.
4.4 Changes. We may change prices and benefits for new members at any time. For current members, we will give at least 30 days' notice of any change before your next renewal.
4.5 Your data. We use your details to run your membership. We will only send you news and offers if you agree. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
4.6 Complaints. Please tell us first and we will do our best to put things right.
