Open Studio at Algarve Arts Academy 🎨
Our Open Studio Fridays are designed to give you the freedom to create at your own pace. Throughout the day, our studio is open for you to work independently on your own art projects, with access to our creative space.
Whether you'd like to paint, draw, experiment with different materials or continue working on a personal project, simply come in, get creative and enjoy the studio!
Come for a few hours or make a creative day of it.

Kiln Firing
€50 per session · €42.50 for Open Studio members
Bisque and glaze firing only. Requests are approved first and firing takes 1–3 weeks.

Open Studio Rules
To keep our studio safe, organised and enjoyable for everyone, we kindly ask all Open Studio guests to follow these rules:
- Clean As You GoPlease clean all brushes, tools, palettes and any equipment you use, and leave your workspace as you found it.
- Bring or Buy Your SuppliesArt supplies are not included in the membership. Please bring your own, or purchase supplies from the member of staff on duty. Please don't use studio stock without checking first.
- Return EverythingAny studio items you borrow, such as easels, tools or furniture, must be returned to their correct place before leaving.
- Respect Other ArtistsPlease be considerate of other people working in the studio. Keep noise at a reasonable level and respect everyone's workspace and artwork.
- Specialist Equipment & Kiln HireKiln firing is by request only. Please complete the kiln request form and wait for approval before bringing in any work. Firing costs €50 per session (€42.50 for Open Studio members). If you are unsure about any equipment, please ask!
- Open Studio Is IndependentOpen Studio is self-guided creative time and does not include individual tuition or a structured lesson.
- Stay Within Open Studio HoursOpen Studio runs Fridays from 10:30–15:00. Please allow enough time at the end of your session to clean and pack away before closing.
- Personal Belongings, Artwork & Your ShelfPlease take care of your personal belongings and artwork. Your member shelf or box is for works in progress only — please keep to the space provided. Any other work left at the studio must be agreed with a member of staff beforehand.
- Food & DrinksPlease keep food and drinks away from artwork, materials and designated working areas.
- Children & GuestsChildren and guests must follow the studio rules. Your guest pass is for one guest, who is your responsibility during their visit. Children must remain under the supervision of their accompanying adult where required.
- Damage & BreakagesPlease let a member of staff know immediately if something is broken, damaged or spilled. Charges may apply for damage to studio items or hired equipment caused through misuse or negligence.
- Before You LeaveClean it. Wash it. Put it back.
