We will travel across art history looking at key artists and art movements, experimenting with a range of different media to produce a take away piece to reflect each era. Little artists will record their design practice in a sketch book to develop a portfolio over the year to evidence the progression of their visual literacy, skills development and encourage their own creative expression.

Each Sunday from 11:00–13:00, children from ages 6 explore art, design, and making through hands-on projects that build real skills and creative confidence. Across a variety of themed blocks, they'll work with clay, textiles, cardboard, wire, circuits, natural materials, and more-creating everything from moving automata, hand-bound books, wind-powered devices, marble runs, to kinetic sculptures. Children work at their own pace, guided through observation, experimentation, and problem-solving, discovering that they're capable makers with their own unique ideas worth bringing to life. This workshop is ideal for any adult and child to enjoy a fun end of the week session together having fun with fabrics. You will experiment with decorative techniques such as tie dye, printing, wax batik appliqué and free motion stitch to create decorative fabrics that you will then make into functional homeware products. The projects will run over four week courses to allow for fabric to dry and have embellished details added in the following week. You do not have to be the parent so bring your niece, nephew, grandchild… and spend some quality time in a creative setting.

Enjoy the feel of oil painting and gain useful knowledge into a medium often thought of as being secretive or only for professionals.
We will begin work by looking at colour, tonal values, blending and finding shapes in our subjects and the relationships between objects. From day one, you will aim to take home a finished piece, then as we progress we will take more time to produce landscapes, objects from nature and the human form.
